THE AUSTRALIAN LIKELY TO CHARGE FOR IPAD APP IN MAY

The Australian will be among the first newspapers to offer an iPad edition, reports Stuart Kennedy.
Deputy chief executive Nick Leeder said an iPad application featuring a digital version of The Australian would launch in May.
"The iPad is a good device for us and well-suited to the kind of content we produce," he said.
"This device gives the opportunity to express the editorial judgment and creativity that has been lost on the web, to some degree.
"We're very likely to charge for it," Leeder said. "We're not certain, but it's very likely it will be a paid app."
